Streetlife is
a community arts group set up in 1999. Streetlife's aim is to provide workshops
in the arts, dance and music and promote these types of artforms amongst young
people in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire region. We have 6 artists
that deliver the workshops. We also provide a network forum for artists with
teaching skills who may want to deliver workshops for the StreetLife project.
The
objectives of Streetlife are:
- To encourage
creative and exciting workshops for all and promote to all young people
in the community.
- Encourage and
increase the awareness, participation and understanding of positive street
culture to provide educational exciting and enjoyable combinations of workshops,
discussions, lectures, taster sessions, display activities and performances.
- Boost networking
with other agencies.
- Create suitable
and safe outlets for young people's talent and enthusiasm.
- Network positive
information about what is happening in the community and within positive
street culture.
