David Okwesia is second generation Nigerian (Igbo) born and brought up in Kingston Upon Hull.

He graduated from Lincolnshire and Humberside University in 1997 with a BA (Hons) in Documentary Communications (Mixed Media).

Since his early youth he has been active as a DJ, performer, musician, composer, dancer and photographer and has performed throughout the country and Europe. He is a founder member of the `Full Flava` recording and promotions collective and has released his first CD `Total Confunction` on their label.

His photography and artwork have been exhibited and published widely including pieces for Photo 98 `The Year Of Photography`, Ferens Art Gallery and Artlink Exchange. He has delivered workshops for numerous organisations including schools, The Race Equality Council, The Warren, Youth Clubs and Community Centres.

He has recently received a Crystal Community Pioneers Award and certificate from Hull Image and K.H.C.C in recognition of his innovative approach to Music, Arts and Photography with young people and community groups.
